Looking for my next
opportunity
to make a change,

with Organic Learning .

This is me

With a vision to send proactive students to the world,  I have been organizing professional development workshops around Japan.  As a proud mother of two boys, I have also carried out "PDPJ", which stands for "Professional Development in you PaJamas" They are professional but casual workshops online on ZOOM.

I change the world
through education

I am a mother first.  All children are  the future of the world.  My vision is to send proactive students to the world, who can navigate themselves through life as a global citizen.  I am an educator with the firm belief that young people have the ability to make great changes in the world if they are given the right information and tools.

Students should have an active role in learning in and outside the classroom, and the teacher should support that.  Ideally, the teacher should be a coach or a mentor to the students.  Organic learning is such an approach that enables learners to become their own boss in learning.  Since learning is a life-long experience it is important for them to learn how to learn, instead of cramming knowledge.

I like to see students engaged in creative and authentic learning using EdTech.  As an Apple distinguished Educator of 2015, I strongly believe that "Creativity = Identity".  Rather than repeating drills in textbooks every day at school, students should immerse themselves in creative projects.  Using the iPad, they can draw, make movies, music, and express themselves in every imaginable way.  This is true even for students in higher education.  More creativity leads to higher self efficacy, enabling students to believe in their power, and in the end, move toward the future while keeping the reigns tight in their hands.
